About the Course

This course supports parents and caregivers in building effective, collaborative partnerships with schools to support their child’s success.

Developed in partnership with the Child Development Institute (CDI), with additional support from LDAO, the course focuses on advocacy, understanding school systems, and practical strategies for navigating meetings, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and decision-making.

This is a fully online, asynchronous course. There are no scheduled live sessions.

Course Schedule

Course begins May 11, 2026
Weekly modules are released each Monday, with the final unit (Week 7) released on June 22, 2026

Participants in the Self-Directed Course will receive:

  • Full access to all course content
  • Flexible, self-paced participation
  • Opportunity to engage in discussion and ask questions
  • Facilitator responses to questions within discussion spaces
  • Option to complete assignments independently

Certificates of Completion are provided to participants in the Full Course (with Certificate) option.
