LDs and ADHD – Fostering Independence and Advocacy

LDs and ADHD – Fostering Independence and Advocacy

This course is Part 3 of LDAO’s three-part professional learning series, “Learning Disabilities and ADHD.” It focuses on promoting independence, self-advocacy, and inclusive supports that empower individuals with LDs and ADHD across school, workplace, and community settings.

Participants will apply their learning through project-based activities and real-world examples that reinforce how to support executive function skills, self-regulation, and student voice. The course builds on key themes introduced in Parts 1 and 2, offering practical strategies and reflective opportunities for those who work with or support individuals with learning disabilities and ADHD.

Each unit includes reflection activities and application tasks designed to deepen understanding and encourage implementation in authentic contexts. Completion of all required activities is necessary to receive a Certificate of Completion for this course.

Learners who complete all three courses in the series will be awarded the LDAO Professional Learning Certificate: Learning Disabilities and ADHD, recognizing completion of the full professional learning pathway.
